Dr Smith graduated in 1988 from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor degree in Dental Science.

He has continued to expand on his knowledge and expertise within the numerous dental fields since his initial graduation and has completed postgraduate qualifications including a Master’s degree in Prosthodontics at the University of Sydney.

His primary studies have been in the area of Prosthodontics, and his concerted efforts to further advance the skills and science behind his dental practice is focussed on his work at Bay Dental. In addition to Dr Smith’s personal assistance in achieving your perfect smile, Bay Dental also facilitates chair side mentoring programs to assist referring colleagues in the field of implant prosthetics.

Dr Smith’s qualifications also include a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry , which embodies the area of dental sedation and dental implantology. Dr Smith maintains his position as one of a select number of dentists in the Southern Queensland area able to offer this advanced form of dental treatment to his patients. As such, his ability to offer the use of dental sedation upholds his practice’s facility to offer a calm and relaxing environment in which to receive treatment for both those who feel anxious or fearful of dental treatment.

Dr Smith is an elected Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is a member of the Australian Dental association, the Australian Society of Anaesthesiology in Dentistry and the American College of Cosmetic Dentistry.
